Morris High School Building Centennial Celebration
The First High School in The Bronx
Sunday June 6, 2004 at 10 AM
In 1904 the doors of Morris High School were opened to admit the first
students. 100 years later we plan to celebrate the Morris High School Building's
Centennial. Please join the students, staff, friends and alumni at this historic
event. One of the activities planned at Morris High School during the morning
celebration on June 6, 2004 is to dedicate a bronze plaque in honor of the
members of the Morris High School Landmark Committee 1981-1982. Members of the
committee were not only responsible for keeping Morris High School from being
torn down but were instrumental in having it declared a New York City Landmark.
The event promises to be HUGE, so please be a part of the Morris Family on this
historic day. For more information and to RSVP please contact Gary Israel at
845-893-0327 or email ggimhs@aol.com.
